Job description:

A brand-new role within a small, but dynamic, growing organisation to be a Technical Sales Engineer. This role will report into the Head of Sales and Marketing and provide a key link to potential customers as well as providing support to the existing customer base.

MBS Electronic Systems is a premier product realisation business providing full life cycle services for embedded product design and development, guided by a total commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.

Based around our portable data loading solutions, this role will involve establishing relationships with key contacts at airlines/MROs and presenting and securing sales of our data loading solutions to them. In addition, to attend various conferences to represent the company and range of products available.

This is a role where an understanding of the airline industry and in particular aircraft line maintenance is crucial, where you will have the opportunity to shape the sale strategy and work directly with senior management.

Overseas travel will be required on an ad hoc basis.


Key responsibilities:

  • Providing customer support, identifying issues with the data load process, including the analysis of debug files.

  • Attend customer meetings to provide demonstrations on and off aircraft as well as providing product presentations.

  • Help to develop and implement a strategic plan that expands the company’s customer base and ensures it’s strong performance.

  • Work alongside the Head of Sales and Marketing to develop marketing materials.

  • Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs.

  • Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status.

  • Attend conferences / exhibitions to represent the company and demonstrate the products, including presenting to delegates as required.


Required skills and experience:

  • Essential: fluent in business English.

  • At least five years experience in aircraft line maintenance, or other relevant experience, including a good understanding of airline’s data loading requirements and associated technical issues.

  • Knowledge of data loading standards (ARINC429, ARINC615, ARINC615A, ARINC835 etc)

  • Experience in use of Aircraft Maintenance Manuals for data loading.

  • Preferred: Basic software knowledge (C, C++, Pearl) to aid with debugging

  • Strong business sense and industry expertise.

  • Enthusiastic, positive and proactive approach.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and build relationships.

  • Sales background not essential, but require demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization.
